The District does not have any dedicated space for musicals, concerts, large group activities or community presentations. Currently, many events are held in the gym which lacks adequate sound and lighting systems. The gym’s already busy schedule limits performance opportunities for students and the community.
The auditorium project could include:
- Seating for 600 people
- Stage with full fly loft
- Modified orchestra pit
- Small group performance/classroom
- Scene Shop with exterior access
- Dressing rooms
- Lobby/gathering area
- Expanded parking lot
The cost of the auditorium is estimated between $9.5 and $10.5 million. The cost to operate and staff this area is estimated at $120,000 annually.
