Elementary Music

Dear Parents,

Welcome to the music program of the Winneconne School District. We as a staff are excited about sharing our love of music with your student. We believe every student deserves to experience all of the benefits music can afford him or her. Your child will be exposed to a variety of activities that will help to strengthen not only their musical ability but will also aide them in other curricular areas as well. Studies have shown that music helps to develop mathematical and linguistic skills and is also an excellent way to develop self- motivation and a strong sense of self- esteem in our students.
As with any class success is dependent largely on the cooperation of the student and parents. With that we ask that you will support us in the musical education of your child by stressing the importance of effort and cooperation with your student.

Students will be responsible for completing assignments in a timely and careful manner. They will be expected to come to class ready to learn and are expected to have materials with them. I.e. Folder, pencil and a good attitude. They will be expected to be an active participant because only then will learning take place. Satisfactory grades will not be earned if a child is unwilling to sing, music is a performance-based class, it is not based on observation.

Students will be expected to keep their parents informed of progress within music. All students are expected to finish assignments and will be given only 1-week leniency for late work.

Please feel free to contact either one of us with any questions or concerns. We look forward to working with your children. For information on how to contact us, please click on the Staff Information page.
