Grade 6 adding a teacher and using a block schedule format for the core classes

MIDDLE SCHOOL READY, SET, RELAX!: Explores a variety of topics of interest to the soon-to-be middle schooler (incoming Grade 6 and new students to our district). Fun activities, discussions, group interactions, tours of school, personal exploration, and study skills are some of the topics covered. Students will also have the opportunity to meet the middle school principal, get their schedules, locker assignments, and get their school supplies ready for fall. Session dates are August 12 and 13 OR August 14 and 15. This class is taught by Mrs. Kaiser, middle school counselor.

1:1 CHROMEBOOOK DISTRIBUTION DATES: All incoming 6th grade parents and students need to attend one of these meetings.  Students new to the district should also attend any of the meetings. The length of the meetings all depend on how many students show.  The minimum time is one hour.

OPEN HOUSE for 7th & 8th Grade: Tuesday, August 27, from 5:00 – 7:00pm.

We look forward to seeing you and your child at open house! Grade 7 and 8 students will be able to pick up their class schedule, locker assignment, and meet the teachers. Students are encouraged to bring their school supplies to the open house, so they can to get their locker organized and be ready for the first day of school on Tuesday, September 3.

OPEN HOUSE for 6th Grade: Monday , September 16, from 5:00 – 7:00pm. (parent meeting at 5:30 in LGL). Grade 6 students and their parents may use this date to meet the sixth grade teachers, tour the classrooms with their child, and discuss their student’s transition to middle school. For students who do not attend Ready, Set, Relax! (August 12 and 13 OR August 14 and 15) students may bring their supplies during normal office hours on Friday, August 23 or Monday, August 26, so they can to get their locker organized and be ready for the first day of school on Tuesday, September 3.

PAYMENT OF FEES: Online payments are available through e-Funds for Schools! This service will allow you to make payments on behalf of your student(s) for lunch account deposits, material fees, and athletic/activity fees. To get started, you will need to create an account by following the instructions at If you have already created an account, you can proceed directly to the "Add a Fee" or "Make a Payment" section under FEE MANAGEMENT. For your convenience, and to encourage more online payments, the regular fees associated with the online fee payment system will be waived from July 13, through September 13. The fees for each grade level are listed below. If you have difficulty utilizing our online payment system to set up your account or make a payment, please stop in the middle school office and we will assist you with completing the process.  Middle school office is open Monday through Friday from 7:00am to 3:30pm beginning August 19.

Coaches Contact Days: August 12, 13, 14  4:00 – 5:30PM @ Middle School Multi-purpose Field. Locker & Equipment Handout: August 15.  8th Grade 5:30 – 6:30PM, 7th Grade 6:30 – 7:30PM @ Middle School Gym. First Day of Practice: August 19. 3:30 – 5:30PM. Football Mom’s Q&A Session: September 5th from 6:00 - 7:00PM  @ Middle School LGL.


Cross Country: Informational meeting will be on August 19 the parent meeting will be that night at 6:00pm with middle school cross country starting the following Monday, August 26.  Team fun runs during the summer on Mondays and Wednesdays at 8 AM and Thursday at 7pm. 


Volleyball 7th and 8th grade – Information available and sign up during August 27 Open House. There will be a short team meeting on Sept. 3 after school. First day of practice September 4.

ATHLETIC/ACTIVITY REGISTRATION: Athletic/Activity registration is done online and can be found here: Students who will be participating in athletics MUST have this online registration completed, current physical on file in the office, and their fee paid by 11am on the first day of practice, before they will be allowed to practice/compete with the team. Physicals dated prior to April 1 of the current year will also require an alternate year card with the physical. Questions or problems with the athletic registration can be directed to Mr. Whitford at

SPORT PHYSICALS: 7thand 8th graders need a physical form or alternate year card on file, in the middle school office, in order to participate in the school athletic program. Please be sure to get this in as soon as possible. CONCUSSION INFORMATION AGREEMENT FORM: State Statute 118.293 requires all youth sport athletes and parents to sign a Concussion Information Agreement before the athlete is able to participate in any youth sport. This requirement is met when your student is registered online on the athletic/activity registration site. Not all middle school athletes are required to have a concussion ImPact test done. The concussion ImPact test requirement starts at grade 9. Grade 7 and 8 football players are required to have a concussion ImPact test.
