Welcome to the health services page for the Winneconne Community School District! Here you will find information on health care needs, school services, vaccinations and much, much more.

Illness

Parents/guardians should monitor their child(ren) daily for signs of infectious illness. Children who are sick should not attend school in-person. 
  • Please review our WCSD: COVID-19 Screener daily. If your child meets the criteria to stay home, then all siblings/household members must stay home. Contact the school for next steps.
  • Your child has a fever - oral temperature of 100.0 F or higher (the child's oral temperature must be less than 100.0 F for 24 hours without the use of fever reducing medication before returning to school)
  • Fever is caused by COVID-19. Your child must stay home for 10 days from the first day the COVID-19 symptoms appeared, must be fever free for 24 hours without use of fever reducing medication, and have symptom improvement before returning to school. Unvaccinated siblings/household members must stay home and quarantine for 7-14 days from date of last exposure to COVID-19 person.
  • Your child tested positive for COVID-19 and has no symptoms; they must stay home for 10 days from the day the test was done. Unvaccinated siblings/household members must stay home and quarantine for 7-14 days from date of last exposure to COVID-19 person.
  • Someone in the household is symptomatic and being tested for COVID-19 and pending test results. All unvaccinated siblings/household members must stay home while pending test results.
  • Has been identified as a close contact to someone who has COVID-19 outside of school. Your child must self-quarantine for 7-14 days from date of last exposure to COVID-19 person.
  • Children who are vomiting and/or have diarrhea the night before or morning of school must stay home until they are symptom free for 24 hours.
  • Undiagnosed rash or open sores with drainage.
  • Red swollen eyes that itch and are draining or have a crusty appearance upon awakening.
  • Head lice infestation
  • Has been diagnosed with a contagious disease such as strep throat, impetigo, pink eye, scabies or ringworm. The child must be prescribed antibiotics and have taken for 24 hours prior to returning to school.
  • Has been diagnosed with a communicable disease other than listed above. Please contact the school nurse to discuss when the child should return to school.
